The national recognition that raises the importance and appreciation of the industry was awarded in conjunction with the Alihankinta 2024 event in Tampere on October 2.
With the national Industrial Achievement of the Year recognition, we want to emphasize the importance and appreciation of industry. The award highlights the greater effectiveness of individual actions. The recognition has been awarded since 2021. The award has previously been won by AGCO Power, Valmet Automotive and Sandvik.
Epec’s candidacy for the Industrial Act of the Year 2024 recognition is based on a significant investment and innovation: Epec has opened a new, state-of-the-art electronics factory in Seinäjoki. With the state-of-the-art Epec Smart Factory 1, we are able to respond to the growing demand and increasingly strict customer requirements, e.g. related to manufacturing processes, quality and responsibility.
The selection committee characterized the winner’s electronics factory investment as a spearhead project.
“The new factory is a very significant investment in the field of Finnish electronics manufacturing. There aren’t many electronics factories in Finland. In addition, it is important from the point of view of the entire Finnish industry that there is a capable player in Finland who can make hardware and software solutions for mobile machines, says the member of the selection board, director of the new technologies unit Erkki Ahola from Teknologiateollisuus ry.
“Epec’s new factory is a modern example of sustainable development. The products are competitive and the volume can be scaled on a Finnish scale – there is potential for big growth here,” sums up Ahola.
“Tavallista yrittää, mutta priimaa tuloo!” which translates more or less “We aim for good, but excellence comes instead.”
